Our Story
Jim Giese Commercial Roofing, Inc. was established in 1981 in Dubuque, IA, and we later expanded to include our Quad Cities office in Eldridge, IA. We’ve never stopped growing, and neither has our service area! Our number of satisfied customers continues to get bigger and bigger, so do we so we can serve even more commercial and industrial business!

Jim founded Jim Giese Commercial roofing in 1981!
Daniel J. Giese
Owner
Daniel graduated from the University of Iowa in 2002, with a BA in Economics. His work experience is diverse; he was a Laborer from 1997-2005 and a Maintenance Technician from 2006-2010. From there, he became a Project Manager/Estimator, and he holds that role currently, as well as the owner of Jim Giese Commercial Roofing since 2021. Dan takes pride in Jim Giese Commercial Roofing's excellent customer service at all stages of the job.
Mike Cota
General Manager
Mike met Jim Giese when they worked at another company together. His experience in the industry started in 1981 when he worked as a laborer. In 1984, he started our Quad Cities branch and has managed both locations since.
Mike Flanagan
Project Manager (Dubuque)
Mike has been a project manager with Jim Giese Commercial Roofing since 1988. With over 34 years of experience, he enjoys working with our customers, both old and new, and making their visions possible.
Mary Swanson
Lead Estimator (Quad Cities)
Mary has been working as an estimator with Jim Giese Commercial Roofing since 1998
Chris Mueller
Estimator & Project Manager (Quad CIties)
Chris graduated from the University of Wisconsin Platteville with a bachelor’s degree in Building Construction Management and has 10+ years of commercial roofing and residential construction experience.
Lucas Thiede
Estimator & Project Manager (Quad Cities)
Lucas graduated from Kirkwood Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Construction Management degree. He has three years’ experience as a Project Manager before coming to work at Jim Giese Commercial Roofing in 2019.
Brad Puck
Safety Director
Brad has 25 years in the construction industry, and he has an ample amount of experience to bring to the Jim Giese Commercial Roofing team. He heads our Safety Department, and he is an authorized OSHA Trainer for construction, as well as a First Aid/CPR/AED certified instructor, 3M Fall Protection Trainer, Certified Crane Operator, and the Trainer for the R/T Forklift, Rigger and Signalperson.
